Meet the Staff
April Todd, Office Manager
April Todd has been the Office Manager for Dr. Hamling since 2001. She was born in Northern California but has lived in Montana most of her life. She grew up and graduated from high school in Glasgow, MT. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from MSU in Health and Human Development/Business Management. Her family includes her husband Bill, and 2 grown step children and grandchildren. April enjoys walking and being outdoors.
Erin Andersen has been a dental assistant for Dr. Hamling since 2011. She was born and raised in Deer Lodge, MT, before moving to Bozeman. Erin has a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from MSU and an associate degree as a veterinary technician from St. Petersburg FL. Her family all resides in Montana, and she enjoys hiking and animals.
Tara Ellis, Dental Assistant
Tara Ellis has been a dental assistant for Dr. Hamling since 2006. She was born and raised in Missoula, MT, and moved to Bozeman in 1987. She graduated from Bozeman High School in 1989, and attended MSU from 1989-1991. Her family includes her husband Rick, her daughter Jessica, and her 3 dogs. Tara enjoys attending MSU football games, puzzles, movies, and hiking.
Judy Sheets, Dental Assistant
Judy Sheets has been a dental assistant for Dr. Hamling for 18 years. She was born and raised in Bozeman and attended MSU. She is married with 3 adult children. Judy describes herself as the “Meanest Crocheter in the West.”
Sierra Hountz, Dental Assistant
Sierra was born in Barstow, California and moved to a ranch in s0uthern Utah with her family at the age of three. There they raised about 100 head of quarter horses and had both a large breeding and training program. She competed in barrel racing, western pleasure, reigning, and showmanship. Sierra is the second oldest of eight children and was the youngest non-indigenous woman that ever hunted musk ox in the Arctic Circle when she was eighteen years old. Outside of work she is busy raising her two “medium-humans”. Both boys love school and have very busy social calendars. Coffee, sarcasm, traveling, staying up late, and being a mom are some of Sierra’s favorite things.
MOrgan Elliason, Dental assistant
Morgan is a valued member of Dr. Kohan’s team who truly loves working with people and building meaningful connections. She enjoys creating a welcoming and positive experience for everyone she works with. Outside of work, Morgan loves staying active through fitness, spending time outdoors hunting, and making memories with her husband and their dog. She’s happiest when she’s surrounded by the people and things she loves!
Shyann Hillier, Dental Assistant
Born and raised in Bozeman, Montana, Shyann has always felt right at home in the Big Sky State. Her passion for community service began early when she joined the fire service as a junior firefighter in 2018. She later earned her EMT Certificate in 2023 and completed her Degree in Fire Science. When she isn’t on duty or spending her free time outdoors hiking and exploring Montana’s wild landscapes, you can find her on the dance floor teaching country swing and line dancing. Whether she is responding to a call or leading a dance floor, she brings energy, heart and true Montana spirit to everything she does.
Morgan Gendle, Front Desk
Morgan moved to Montana in 2003 and attended MSU, later graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She enjoys snowboarding and trying to stay warm in the winter. In the summer, she fills her time full of camping, hiking, and enjoying the rivers. Her two wonderful kids keep her busy as well. She is excited to be a part of this team.
