Meet The Doctor

Endodontist Jeffery M. Hamling, DDS, MS

Dr. Hamling was born and raised in Utah. He graduated from University of Utah in 1992 with a B.S. in Medical Biology and a minor in German. After moving to Virginia he Graduated with honors from the Medical College of Virginia in 1996 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS). From there he did residencies in Missouri at the Truman Medical Center and at Marquette University, completing his endodontic residency in 1999.
Dr. Hamling then moved to Montana in 1999 where he opened his practice in it’s current location. He is the first endodontist to open a practice in Bozeman and was the only endodontist for the first 11 years of his tenure in Bozeman.

Dr. Hamling is the proud father of 4 children, raising all of them to enjoy and respect the outdoors. He is a devoted father and spends most of his time away from the office in activities involving his children
He enjoys all that Montana has to offer including hunting, fishing and camping. He is actively involved with the Boy Scouts, local and national dental organizations and volunteers with many different civic organizations, and is a member of several professional dental organizations.

Dr. Hamling is pleased to announce that Dr. Thomas Mack has joined his practice as an associate. Tom has been living in the Gallatin Valley and providing volunteer services at the Community Health Partners Dental Practice for the last 4 years. He graduated from the University of Portland in 1967 with a BS degree. He attended dental school at Creighton University’s school of dentistry completing his degree in 1971. He served as a Navy dental officer for 2 years after dental school. Upon completing his military service, he practiced general dentistry in Long Beach, CA for a year. He pursued his endodontic training at Detroit Mercy, completing his training in 1976. He practiced endodontics for 30 years in the San Francisco Bay area. He served on the local Dentistry Board as director, Secretary, and member of the ethics board. As a member of the Flying Doctors, he traveled to Mexico to provide basic dental care to the needy. He taught part time clinical Endodontics at both the University of Pacific and UCSF dental schools over a 17 year period ending in 2003. He retired from full time practice in 2006 and has since come to call Bozeman home. He is seeing patients in the Bozeman office on Wednesdays.
Dr. Mack enjoys fly fishing, skiing, golf, and especially the wonderful people they have come to call friends.
